KING ABDULLAH BIN AL HUSSEIN COMPLEX AND PUBLIC PARK
WADI SAQRA – AMMAN – JORDAN

1981 – 1985 – Gross area : Buildings : 70,000 m² – Public park : 50,000 m²
Comprehensive operation including an office tower, commercial center, leisure center and public facilities integrated into a public park

A complex with a powerful identity, including two main poles of attraction, the office tower and the supermarket put at opposite ends of a shopping mall, the starting point of this circuit and heart of the complex is the formal hexagonal piazza (on two levels) creating the meeting point and entrance to the office tower, shopping center and leisure center.

This principal axis is developed into an organized composition covering the whole site and creates a structured public park organized around an amphitheater dug out of the hillside.

The project is characterized by the integration in an environnement with historical, social and climatic context, it expresses powerful forms with fluid spaces shaded by suspended planters and coloured with variations of light.
