The new University Hospital Center is a contextual project.
1 – It is an urban answer to the development of the hospital city. It lowers the scale imposed by the importance of this program, splits it into two parts to make it controllable, and therefore makes the exploitation of the 200.000 m2 SDO cost-effective. A new picture of the hospital, totally different from the former one, appears and settles down sensitively in the site.
2 – The new University Hospital Center of Amiens favors a human scale composition and reveals/shows innovative medical and functional ambitions. Directly connected to a backbone, the real project’s spine in three dimensions, it organizes the three main housing poles which it gathers around a general welcome hall, making it the closest possible from the federative technical pole of the Medico-Technical Platform.
3 – The new University Hospital Center of Amiens optimizes the hospitalization units’ organization. It develops those of pole 1 and 2 above the ambulatory sector and the medico-technical platform, over 4 levels, each organized with a modular conception in a platform with 4 units of 25 beds,
To resume, the innovative organization of the new University Hospital Center of Amiens focus on the future. It is pragmatic and, though it rejects any ostentatious … for an economical exploitation, reveals the dynamic picture of a healthcare pole on the scale of its ambitions as well as the city in which it settles and the future and ambitious development project for Amiens’ Metropolis.
